Chicago, IL, April 3, 2023– Today Jody Moore joins Spool as its Senior Vice President, People and Operations, a new strategic role for the agency and a member of its executive leadership team. In her role, Moore will oversee all people and operational functions, leveraging her career and expertise working within high-growth companies on the agency- and client-sides. With her passion for creating an inclusive culture where every person feels valued and supported, Moore will carry forth Spool’s “people-first” mission as the agency continues to see massive growth in 2023 and beyond. Moore will also serve as a senior strategist for Spool’s growing corporate practice.
Moore brings over 20 years of deep internal and external communications experience, having worked both in-house at Molson Coors and Kraft Heinz as well as agency side at ICFNext (formerly Dig, formerly Olson). Most recently, Moore was the director of internal communications at Molson Coors.
“Having worked with Jody for some of the most formative years of my career, I couldn’t be more excited to have her join Spool and share her experiences and expertise with our incredible team,” said Catherine Merritt, CEO and founder of Spool. “Jody’s people-first passion along with her attention to process and understanding how operations support our clients, and vice versa, is the perfect addition to where Spool is today and where we’re going.”
Jody has served as head internal communicator, speechwriter and communications strategist for CEOs and CHROs. She’s led internal communications for global restructurings, complex labor negotiations and facility closures, as well as through a mass workplace shooting and the global health crisis. Jody has also served as a brand and company spokesperson with national and local media and has delivered award-winning public relations campaigns for some of the world’s most iconic brands, such as Miller High Life, Oscar Mayer and Velveeta. And she’s defended companies and brands on key issues, including controversial ingredients and animal welfare concerns.
“I’ve watched Spool’s growth from the sidelines and when Catherine brought this opportunity to me, I was thrilled to join the team and be part of building such a radically different type of agency,” said Moore. “In less than five years, Spool has established itself as a leading people-first agency and this approach not only delivers on a promise to its employees, but it has shown it also yields a high return to its clients and partners as a result. I can’t wait to be part of this company and shape where they’re at today and support their big plans for the future.”
